Hola! Welcome to My Website.
I am a linguist and interdisciplinary scholar with a research focus on language, community, identity, and Latin American literature and art.
I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish with a concentration in Hispanic Linguistics. My research explores the sociopolitical dimensions of language in society, focusing on linguistic landscapes, language contact, and the representation of Hispanic and Latin American identities in contemporary literature and media.
My doctoral dissertation examined the presence and growth of Spanish in public spaces in Philadelphia, a study that has been published in academic journals, presented at international conferences, and featured in media outlets such as The Philadelphia Inquirer and NPR-affiliate WHYY. You can find my academic articles and press announcements about these findings in the "Publications and Media" section. I am currently expanding this research into a project titled Exploring Filadelfia, which documents and analyzes the cultural and linguistic practices of Latino immigrant communities in the city.
Thank you for visiting my website!
